Stand Out From the Crowd: Send Me a Video CV
Author: Karen Ingram
Following on from my posts:
- Stand out from the crowd: take a Psychometric Assessment; and
- Stand out from the crowd: Follow up your CV submission with a phone call
I have another top tip for you if you are seeking to STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD. You need to be pro-active, creative, different and most of all persistent to shine bright to potential employers.
Tip 3
send me a video CV
With reference to working for us. If you of your own accord put together a video CV and sent that to us, it would certainly get our attention, as this is not a common thing (yet).
With smart phones and video capable devises becoming cheaper and more common, this is easier than ever to do.
Once you have done this, you could then upload to YouTube, your own website (if you have one), your own blog (if you have one), etc., etc.
A piece of advice with this though. If you are going to put a video CV or application together make sure you are appropriately dressed, as though this video is the interview itself. Make sure you have a structured list of reasons why you should be employed with evidence of any statements you make.
It's a noisy world out there, STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD.
On average Project Resource will receive 300+ CVs every month, so getting yourself noticed is paramount.
What are you prepared to do?
Pick up the phone and give me a call (01628-477744), be pro-active, sending your CV alone is not enough.
