The job application
(The reason you have applied for the job and why you are
suitable)
It is imperative that when you apply for a job that you clearly
indicate why you feel you are suitable for the job and that your CV
(Curriculum Vitae) has the essential skills and experience the job
specification requires. This information is best presented in a
covering letter or a one/ two paragraph email.
Suitable for the job
A few questions to ask yourself prior to applying for the job
vacancy:
Do you have the essential skills and experience the employer is
seeking?
Do you fulfil the job specification?
Does your CV match the job that you are applying?
Is your suitability for the job easy to see from your CV? Remember
your CV may or may not be read by a technically proficient person.
If you are a Planning Engineer and the person initially reading
your CV is not familiar with the technical details of planning then
they may find it difficult to understand technical phrases, bear
this in mind when drafting your letter and CV.
Does your covering letter/ email reinforce why you are suitable
for the job, the company and the location?

Highlight why you are applying for the job, what makes you stand
