Project controllers work with systems and methods to ensure that a project remains on time, on track and within budget.

The principle duties of a project controller include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the project manager to define the project's goals and objectives
• Maintaining a project's budget using relevant software ie: Sage or SAP
• Analysing progress reports and assessing them against the work programme
• Preparing reports and recommending actions to improve progress

An project controller should have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
• A good understanding of cost budgeting, risk analysis and critical path
• Understanding of the business process
• Excellent IT and financial skills
• The ability to work in a high pressure environment
