New Scotland Yard Redevelopment Plans Receive Approval

It has been announced that plans to redevelop the Metropolitan Police’s New Scotland Yard HQ in London have been approved by the planning committee of Westminster City Council.

We wrote an article last year announcing that plans had been submitted, but it’s exciting to hear that Developer, BL Development Ud has finally received permission to build 246 apartments.

Developer, BL Development Ud, which is owned by Abu Dhabi Financial Group bought the site back in December 2014 for £370m, which was a steal (excuse the pun). BL Development Ud plans to knock down three of the seven existing building and build six residential building that will range from 14 to 20 storeys.

The scheme has been designed by The Squire & Partner and is set to cost in the region of £1bn from start to finish, with work to start this year and be completed in 2021.

This is a very exciting project and one that will create a contemporary destination, luxury apartments and office and retail space in the heart of London.
