We have taken a look at how many £100m+ construction projects are set to begin in 2018 in the UK across all sectors.
Great news for construction as it looks like it’s going to be a busy year.
As you can see from the graphic below there are some very exciting figures on show.
The most exciting stat is the increase in the number of £100m+ projects starting in 2018 vs the number of £100m projects that started in 2016 and 2017. This clearly shows the increase in the amount of investment the UK is currently experiencing, and long may it continue!
It was expected that London would see the highest number of £100m projects starting in 2018 vs other regions but the South East is not far behind. The North West is also seeing some very exciting investment, with Liverpool and Manchester seeing the bulk of construction.
It’s not surprising that housing is leading the way in the sectors for number of £100m projects starting in 2018 with infrastructure coming in at number 2.
Overall it’s looking good for UK construction and remember this is only showing stats on projects over £100m. When we looked at projects between £5m and £100m in value we saw just over 7,000 projects across all sectors set to start in 2018, which is over a 5,000 increase from 2016 and 2017... just amazing!!
