2019 Construction Project Update: The top ten most active Cities in the UK

It’s almost the end of the first quarter of 2019, so we wanted to take a quick look at construction projects across the UK. In this article we offer a look at the top ten cities with the most construction projects starting in 2019. This data has been provided by Glenigan.

To put a bit of context to the figures below, we only looked at projects that have been awarded contracts. So the figures do not take into consideration projects that are currently in the planning phase. The figures below also look at projects of all types, sizes and cost, so there are a huge range of projects from simple refurbs to huge long-term schemes.

So let’s take a look at the top 10 cities…

1. London

No surprises that London comes out on top. On top of the 761 projects starting in 2019 there are a further 1,029 out for tender.

2. Greater Manchester
