In this article we have taken a look at which cities are set to be the busiest in terms of construction projects starting. Using data provided by Glenigan, the leading provider of construction data across the UK, we have looked at projects across all construction sectors, set to start between 1st January 2020 and 31st December 2020 with a value of £5m+.
Positioning is based on the total number of projects starting, not size or cost. So let’s take a look at the top 20 UK’s busiest towns and cities in 2020…
As you can we have segmented the total number of projects into different values, so you can see the number of smaller and larger projects that are set to start in 2020. It’s no surprises that London is on top, but are there any towns/cities that you’re surprised about being in the top 20?
We would also like to point out that this is only a snapshot based on what is currently set to start in 2020. We imagine these figures will increase over the course of the year as we start to see more projects being awarded planning.
