The Opportunity:
A leading M&E Contractor based in the East Midlands are looking for an M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor.
They have an excellent reputation for delivering high quality design & build projects for a wide range of clients in the education, commercial, leisure and residential sectors.
Typical project values range from £20k - £1.5m in value and they work with both public and private sector clients.
This company has an enviable reputation for high staff retention and is well known for promoting autonomy within the business.
Role & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in tender handover from estimating department.
  • Prepare, submit and negotiate tenders as required within the team and in conjunction with the PM/Operations Manager.
  • Ensure adequate LOI or PO in place before work starts.
  • Produce buying schedule in conjunction with PM.
  • Ensure all subcontractors are on the approved list before using.
  • Procure Sub Contract packages, approve sub contract orders ensuring compliance with specification, drawings and employers requirements.
  • Negotiate subcontract payment terms.
  • Produce project cash flow forecast.
  • Prepare and submit client applications accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage subcontract applications and ensure work packages are valued correctly and on time.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Quantity Surveying role
  • M&E Experience is ESSENTIAL
  • Track record of working with a building services contractor or main contractor
  • Stable employment history
  • A portfolio containing a wide range of project types.
  • Familiar with JCT and NEC contracts
  • Degree qualified in an RICS approved QS course
