BIM Coordinator

A leading UK Main Contractor has a vacancy for a BIM Coordinator based near Hinckley.

The successful BIM Coordinator will report into the Technical Manager for the East Midlands construction division on design and build projects.

Projects range from Education, Leisure, Retail, Commercial and Healthcare.

The BIM Coordinator will need to have worked for a construction contractor on D&B projects previously.

BIM Coordinator Duties

-Manage the collection, presentation and storage of BIM data and deliverables taking into account the company BIM processes and protocols
-Actively contribute to the development and improvement of BIM processes and protocols
-Assist with the implementation of supporting software for BIM within Building, including training
-Assist with the evaluation of new BIM related software and technologies specific to Building
-Participate in objective development and improvements to company BIM processes and procedures
-Manage the co-ordination of BIM related information between the interested parties
-Establish and implement control procedures to check and monitor the accuracy and completeness of data entries and the 'Level of Development' (LOD) being produced by designers against the project protocol
-Establish and implement control procedures to check and monitor model federation, clash reports and clash resolution.
-Where required by the project, arrange, run and record BIM Co-ordination Workshops and Model Co-ordination meetings. Compile individual discipline models/design information and federate into multi-disciplinary model information. Arrange for appropriate clash reports to design out clashes in the model (virtual) environment managing and recording their closure
-Engage with site team and where of assistance arrange the setting - up and sharing of views, sections and walk-throughs within the models that will enhance their understanding of the build requirements and help support health and safety initiatives
-Report on the progress of BIM for project Design Team Meetings, Contract Review Meetings and Client Progress Meetings
-Carry out validation checks on the model for handover, that they contain the agreed level of information and in the format required
-Make arrangements for the final production of the as-built model deliverables, including data file
-Participate in Internal Training: sharing skills and knowledge with other staff
-Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training

BIM Coordinator Requirements

-Have worked for a contractor in the construction industry on D&B projects
-Ideally have experience of JCT and NEC contracts
-Experience of working on high valued commercial / mix used buildings would be advantageous
-UK Driving Licence

BIM Coordinator Remuneration

Salary: up to £35,000 per annum
Location: Hinckley
Other benefits: Car/Car allowance, 5% pension, 28 days holiday, 8 days bank holiday, private healthcare
