Position: Contracts Manager
Location: Lancashire (Office/Site Based)
Salary: £62,000 - £65,000 + Full Package

Contracts Manager

Responsibility to oversee a variety of projects, from start to completion, ensuring they are undertaken on programme, on budget, to a high standard of quality and safety in line with company procedures.

Ideally based in the north-west of England, within commuting distance of Lancashire/Merseyside/Greater Manchester.

The role will be predominantly office based with the occasional visit to site

Able to efficiently source, organise, plan and allocate resources (site management, labour, plant, materials & specialist sub-contractors)

Planning is a key activity and use of MS Project for programming is essential.
Highly literate, numerate and with good IT skills (spreadsheets, etc.)

Conversant with current Health, Safety and Environmental procedures / systems of work


Self-motivated, focussed, confident, enthusiastic, versatile, organised, resourceful, natural leadership skills

Well-presented, articulate, able to liaise directly with clients & present a good company image, good meetings skills, diplomatic, customer-focussed, trust worthy

Other duties:

  • Financially aware, detailed financial monitoring and reporting
  • Able to keep accurate records of project costs.
  • Able to prepare Payment Applications & evaluate works undertaken.
  • Understanding of contract conditions (JCT, etc.)
  • Assess and recover additional / extra works. Resolve any disputes
  • Combine costs / valuation information to monitor profit margins
