Our client is a well-established, multi award-winning Mechanical and Electrical consulting practice based in SE London. Being at the forefront of engineering design they can offer a full range of design services to clients and impressive project portfolio. My client has a vision to create an engineering services consultancy that embodies industry learning and maintains a high level of delivery with an emphasis on providing innovative solutions and investment in the teams growth.

Role:

As an Associate you will take responsibility for the operational delivery of projects, the management of client relationships and the line management of team. Working alongside the Electrical Director you will be very much hands on still with design and capable of working on projects from concept to completion. Being well versed in electrical design you will have a proven track record of successful project delivery whilst being up to date with CIBSE and UK building regulations. From the London office you must support the busy team of MEP Engineers on a number of their design schemes across a wide spread of sectors. You will also be responsible for supporting the internal support functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing and Legal as well as being heavily focused on external clients. To be successful at this role you must be technically sound and work consistently on designing and delivering to client's needs.

Overview:

The successful Electrical Associate Engineer will be chartered and be responsible for the financial management of projects and the clients. You will have a primary focus on delegation and supervision of work within the teams you monitor. The key focus of this role will be providing advice, guidance and coaching; this includes checking and verifying and signing off designated projects. You must also establish design concepts to ensure that designs are appropriate, deliverable and consistent with the client's brief. Before sign off you must review and verify designs produced by direct reports and provide feedback when required. You must participate in marketing, meetings and events, and contribute to company development when necessary. You will also be expected to assist with recruitment for instance, participating in careers events, interviews etc.

Essential Skills:

  • Relevant Degree in Electrical Engineering,
  • Member of professional bodies - IET and CIBSE
  • Effective management of finance, business development and other project responsibilities (including QA)
  • Thorough understanding of Building Services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Proven track record of working within a multi-discipline environment
  • Experience in design and delivery of large to medium scale projects
  • Up to date with British Standards
  • Must offer a minimum of 10 years UK Building Services Design experience, ideally in a consultancy environment
