Job Description

One of our key clients is currently seeking an Estimating Bid Manager in Hertfordshire to work on a permanent basis in their Civils/ Rail team


  • Lead & Manage the bid management and Estimating team and ensure processes are followed
  • Making sure decisions on bid/no bid are taken and competitive, profitable bids are submitted and won
  • Co-ordinate the team to work in collaboration with colleagues from across the business, preparing and submitting accurately costed and competitive bids
  • Working closely with Business development teams to understand the correct strategies for bids
  • Understanding the tender pipeline and leading the bids through to completion


  • Worked as an Estimating and/ or Bid Manager previously
  • Experience in the Civil Engineering, Rail, Specialist sub-contractor industries previously
  • Understanding of Ground Engineering Piling and other earthworks disciplines
  • Understanding of various forms of contract including JCT, NEC, ICE, NR12, NR8, NR9
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, Valesco, other Microsoft office packages
  • Degree Qualified in Construction or Engineering is desirable
  • Membership of the RICS or ICE is also desirable


  • Up to £70,000 per annum
