Job Description

Our client who is an up and coming company is looking for someone who can work on external facade, due to growth are looking to recruit a Project Manager based in the London region.

You will be responsible for planning, controlling and organising projects within the external facade industry.

The Project Manager is the principle contact with the client on allocated projects and is responsible for managing the project sales hand over to final client sign off, ensuring that it is in accordance with the agreed programme and that the installation costs are within the estimate with full consideration for Health and Safety and Safe Systems of Work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·Attending all project related correspondence within 24 hours of receipt, ensuring the client is updated and informed at all times. Copy always to be put in file.
·Monitoring progress of materials in production, keeping a check on delivery times and any problems regarding deliveries. Be aware from day one of deadlines.
·Identifying priorities and potential problems at an early stage, and taking action on a timely basis.

·Making sure that costs allowed by estimating are put on Procurement Requisition order to allow Procurement to purchase well within budget.

·Ensuring design complies with estimate.
·Keeping the Contracts Director and Quantity Surveyor informed of any issues, which may affect the programme, or have a financial impact, as well as ensuring the project designer is aware of any design related issues.
·Ensuring all changes and variations to a contract are passed to estimating and then onto the Q.S for mark-up if rates apply. Any abortive costs or extras to be notified by Q.S.
·To ensure a commercial view of all projects is taken, and being generally aware of the status of every project allocated during its duration.
·Responsible for highlighting design issues which might affect programme or costing.
·Maintaining a day-book recording all key events during the entire life of each project, providing a record for a later date if any disputes arise.
·Managing a workload to achieve all deadlines required, to meet programme dates.
·Taking responsibility for progress minutes giving accurate written details of the status of each job and following through job requirements in a timely fashion. Progress Meetings are to highlight problems, and opportunities and to decide on specific actions and responsibilities.
·Arranging RFI's and actioning them when they are sent back, and also progress chasing RFI's. (To be discussed)
·Project Managers to agree Risk Assessment/Method Statements etc. then to issue and ensure signed return before project start up.

·To attend site on first visit with fitters to hand over his ideas of fitting requirements giving fitter good insight into design. Constant monitoring and supervision, if required of fitters whilst on site in conjunction with fitting manager.
·Arranging access equipment, site storage and timing of deliveries to site (in conjunction with the factory)
·Ensuring everything is confirmed in writing and not acting on verbal instruction.
·The Project Manager is required to compile his own correspondence, which should be of a professional standard and should be checked thoroughly before being sent.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
Strong all round general education with passes at GCSE Maths and English grade C or above.
Preferably an HND qualification in Building Construction or Engineering.

Excellent Salaries are on offer dependent upon level of relevant experience.

Between £60,000 - £85,000 per annum plus package.
