Construction Planner - Residential Developments

We have an exceptional opportunity to join one of the UKs most well-known construction companies. This business specialises in building homes UK wide, and at any one time may have as many as 300-400 developments in process in both towns and rural areas across the UK, every one posing unique challenges. Some are from scratch on brownfield sites; others see them adapting existing buildings, like old factories or disused hospitals.

The role

Live Project Programme Support

  1. Production of integrated project programmes - design, procurement and construction - in conjunction with Project Manager/Project Director and Technical/Commercial teams.
  2. Production of project short medium and target programmes as required.
  3. Weekly review and dropline reporting of progress on site - site visits as required by the PD/PM.
  4. Production of sequence/logistics/craneage/hoist plans - interaction with Plant suppliers, Technical team and Temporary works engineer.
  5. Production of PEP ( planning/logistics/sequence elements).
  6. Sales interaction - sales rates programmes to integrate with plot completions/CMLs, etc.

New Bids

  1. Production project programmes - Pre-construction/Planning and construction - in conjunction with Project Manager/Project Director and Technical.
  2. Production of sequence/logistics/craneage/hoist plans - interaction with Plant suppliers, Technical team and Temporary works engineer.
  3. Production of PEP (planning/logistics/sequence elements) to meet bid stage requirements - including plans and details - sketchup or similar.
  4. Sales interaction - sales rates programmes to integrate with plot completions/CMLs, etc.
  5. Preliminaries monitor for cost plan purposes - agreement of project resource.

Homebuilder

  1. Input and maintain company KPI monitoring tool with planned and actual information.

Experience

  1. Have developed metrics from basic drawing information for use in planning library.
  2. Familiar in providing baseline, procurement, target build programme, medium range versions etc.
  3. Involved in regular Monitoring programmes.
  4. Had experience all types of housebuilding, i.e. low, medium and high rise developments work.

Knowledge

  1. Technical proficient in Asta with recognised training certification including: Introduction to Asta Power Project , Managing Costs and Resources with Asta Powerproject, Progress Analysis and S-curve Reporting with Asta Powerproject or similar.
  2. Able to use a document management system.
  3. Able to provide programme reports.
  4. Able to produce Gantt Charts. Logic Networks, PERT Charts, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  5. Be familiar with RIBA stages of design and construction.

Current role

  1. Likely to be currently working for/ recently worked as a planner a large main contractor
  2. It is likely that the candidate will be working alone (i.e. no team) reporting directly in to the Operation Director.

Remuneration

A salary of circa £70,000, plus a great benefits package (possibly more for the right candidate)
