Quantity Surveyor

£50,0000 - £65,000 plus package

The company:

A rapidly growing and high achieving passive fire protection business specialising in fire doors and fire stopping. Based in SE London and operate across London and the SE of England with a developing nationwide coverage.

The Quantity Surveyor requirement:

They are creating a formal commercial surveying department and we require an experienced quantity surveyor to be responsible for the overall financial management of projects that has been carried out by existing Contract Managers to date. Project values range from approximately £5000 to upwards of £1m across varied client sectors.

Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

The Quantity Surveyor will be working alongside our Contract Managers, you will be responsible for the financial management of projects from receipt of order through to Final Account. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for analysing projects and contract instructions, calculating and presenting Interim and Final Valuations, identifying and agreeing variations, assisting with subcontractor contracts and their valuations. You will be responsible for ensuring that relevant internal teams work together to meet commercial deadlines. It will be important that the Quantity Surveyor will attend contract handover meetings with the delivery team to be briefed by the Estimator on the make-up of tenders to manage and enhance commercial and operational elements of projects once live.

You will support the Estimator at peak times if required.

 You have excellent commercial acumen;

 You have a proven track record in quantity surveying;

 You have the ability to quickly and correctly understand scopes of work and project requirements;

 You are proactive and have excellent time management skills;

 You are comfortable working alone or as part of a team as required;

 You remain calm and calculated under pressure;

 You are an excellent communicator;

 Excellent practical knowledge of common IT packages, mainly Excel, MS Word, and use of email.

 Full and clean driving licence.
