Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor | Reading | Consultancy


I am working with a multinational PQS practice with over 100 years of history and pedigree within the UK's consultancy market. During their successful trading history, they have been involved in a number of high-profile projects including the Olympic Games, new stadia developments for word renowned football teams and entire new build shopping centres.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who can take responsibility for a number of projects, acting as the main contact with each client as well as provide support to the existing team in the delivery of projects. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be providing PQS services on a variety of projects ranging from £10m to £500m across the commercial, residential, leisure and stadia and datacentre centres.


Key responsibilities:

  • The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of a project
  • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
  • To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
  • Individually or as part of a team operate processes for the selection, appointment and management of construction and engineering contractors
  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
  • Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies


Key requirements for the Senior Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Degree qualified, ideally in Quantity Surveying or a similar technical discipline
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, leisure/stadia or datacentre projects.
  • MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
  • Strong Feasibility and cost planning experience
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients
  • Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
  • Strong technical delivery experience


Remuneration for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position:

  • £65,000 - £70,000 per annum.
