Senior Quantity Surveyor | Groundworks and Piling

We have a wonderful career opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a great stable, profitable and growing business. This is a well-known, and well-respected construction business that has a core focus on groundworks and piling.

Due to continued growth, winning more work, and further repeat business this business is looking to add an experience Senior Quantity Surveyor to their team.

Requirements for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position:

  • You'll have been a Quantity Surveyor for several years, and ideally have worked within a sub-contractor work environment.
  • You'll have been used to managing several projects at any one time.
  • You'll have managed multiple projects up to £500,000 in value.
  • You'll be proficient with JCT forms of contract and used to managing bespoke contracts.
  • You'll have good customer service skills and used to managing client relationships.
  • You will be a good team player, and able to work in a team and independently

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and check various financial forecasts and project reports.
  • Ensure that applications for payment are accurately valued, prepared and submitted on time.
  • Liaise with clients to agree monthly valuations including final accounts, and obtain payment certificates, and payments on time.
  • Contractual negotiation and administration of sub-contractors, including valuation and payment.
  • Assist operations staff with commercial matters relating to projects.
  • Review enquiry documentation and input into the tender preparation where requested.

Other Skills Required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in a construction background.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and manage risks in contract documents.
  • Computer literate including competency in the use of MS Excel.
  • Excellent numeracy.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work well within a team.
  • Well organised with good time management.
  • Good presentation skills.

Remuneration for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position:

Salary range is circa £65,000 (flexible), plus a good benefits package. The benefits package includes a car or car allowance, private health, pension, plus more.
